Travis Perkins

Travis Perkins was using a fleet of outdated devices from mixed manufacturers, so Apogee was selected to assess their operations and identify more suitable hardware and software options.

The Challenge

Travis Perkins was using an unconsolidated fleet of devices from mixed manufacturers across their branch network. The infrastructure was out of date and processes were inefficient with many points of failure in the system.

The Solution

Apogee undertook a print and document assessment to understand how the business worked and immediately started to identify suitable hardware and software.

Working together with staff at Travis Perkins, Apogee was able to transfer the company from a fleet of mixed brands and models to an integrated, unified, reliable infrastructure with centralised control and management and a streamlined software solution.

A new scanning function was set up and a move to a Cloud solution was implemented - this removed analogue processes and improved workflow processes and communication. The routing of digital documents via scanning and Cloud has eliminated circa 1,500 legacy systems and the process is now much more efficient. The new scanning solution has been implemented across the whole estate with legacy numbers maintained, causing minimal disruption to the end user.

Apogee also provides Travis Perkins with remote monitoring on all of their devices. This pro-active management was available as soon as the devices were installed. Our Customer Support team monitor all devices live on a real-time basis, resolving potential faults before they occur, and dispatching engineers before having to call to request one.

The project was managed to completion by two integrated teams from both Apogee and Travis Perkins, enabling a unified project management strategy. A dedicated deployment team, including staff from Apogee, was based in the Travis Perkins Head Office to oversee the install and transition.

Circa 4,500 devices were successfully delivered and installed to over 2,000 Travis Perkins branches around the UK with seamless integration and no disruption to the day-to-day running of the business.

The complexity in the rollout to multiple locations was made easier by the planning and collaboration with Apogee, which in turn encourage adoption by staff at Travis Perkins.
