University Hospital Limerick

The MPS solution we deployed satisfies all day-to-day printing needs, and maintains a 98% fleet uptime across all devices and all sites.

 

The Background

Apogee baselined print usage and existing servicing and fleet characteristics to develop an MPS strategy that would provide planned maintenance, technical and user support governed by dedicated contract management and a Service Level Agreement in support of 10 million prints per annum including 24 hour cover for A&E and the labs.

We worked with the hospital to create a bespoke training schedule to train a variety of different users on the devices and service, accommodating shift workers and remotely monitored consumables and replenished stock. We manage real-time performance and environmental reports and ensure the currency of the fleet. We support secure printing options and report service improvements and cost savings on a quarterly basis.

 

The Solution

The University Hospital’s aging printer, facsimile and photocopier fleet from varying manufacturers and with varying service levels was not fit for purpose. We baselined MPS requirements and proposed a single vendor/service level approach.

 

The Outcome

In adopting this approach, the Hospital gained a single agreement for maintenance, supplies, and support and comprehensive control over the fleet. Environmental impacts were reduced (through device consolidation across multiple sites) and equipment upgrades.

The MPS solution we deployed satisfies all day-to-day printing needs, primarily in A4 and A3 (mono and colour) and maintains a 98% fleet uptime across all devices and all sites.

Apogee trained staff and we maintain staff education levels through regular refresher training. We communicate to various levels in the organisation via meetings and reports guided by continuous monitoring.

Apogee undertake repairs or fleet updates and provide technical support. We maintain consumables on-site and monitor usage remotely, ensuring timely replenishment and recycling of consumables, while storing larger volumes off-site.

We have implemented a wide range of security features, which vary from site to site, including secure release printing based on a PIN number.
