"Apogee’s approach was to support the legacy fleet during the transition to the new estate and to prioritise ‘areas of pain’ where users were using legacy devices that were no longer fit for purpose."
– Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust Representative
The Background
Prior to moving to a managed print service the Trust had ‘traditional’ arrangements for print services available to end users. These were primarily an aging desktop fleet managed in house and a long standing agreement with a local print company for copiers and MFDs. Both of these elements were experiencing service and reliability issues with availability of MFDs a particular issue.
Additionally, given the length of time the equipment had been in place, concerns were raised by the Trust over the impact of change that could be experienced with an aggressively rationalised fleet.
