– Jen Chapman, Finance Manager - Park View Academy
The Background
The Parkview Academy have been at the heart of Chesterle-Street, Durham since 1911, it was the town’s first grammar school and now is the largest Academy. They are rooted into the community and long established as an innovative Academy offering children a 21st Century education of real worth and foster traditional values.
The Parkview Academy passionately believe that all young people can achieve if challenged to do so, that each has in them special qualities, talents and strengths which it is the duty of true educators to develop.
Before Parkview Academy entered into a three year contract with Apogee, the school accumulated a large combination of devices which they acquired as and when they were needed. They had sole responsibility for all devices, including the purchasing, maintenance and servicing of devices.
As well as the sourcing and purchasing of printer consumables, this high level of responsibility consequently meant that staff time was being spent on unproductive tasks. Additionally, as there were devices in every classroom, the Academy was overwhelmed with the level of service and time required to manage the large number of devices. The lack of a clear print strategy within the Academy made processes inefficient, leading to consumable, energy and cost wastage.
