Aurelio Maruggi Appointed as Chief Executive Officer at Apogee Corporation

With effect from today, Aurelio Maruggi has been appointed to Apogee’s Board of Directors in the role of Chief Executive Officer. He takes over the leadership role from Robin Stanton-Gleaves who will continue to contribute to Apogee as a consultant advisor.

Aurelio is a senior HP Inc. executive with more than three decades of print industry experience, most recently as the Global Head of Owned Channels and the General Manager of HP’s A3 Solutions Business. Aurelio played an integral role in both the acquisition of Apogee by HP, and the integration of the Samsung Print Business.

Earlier in his career at HP, Aurelio created from the inception the HP Graphics Page Wide Press business, taking it from initial idea to become a significant and profitable business for HP. Prior to HP, Aurelio led the Inkjet Printing Business for Olivetti before co-founding Yminds S.A. in Switzerland, an engineering firm specialising in advanced micromechanics and colour science.

Robin Stanton-Gleaves founded Balreed in 2003 and grew it to become one of the UK’s leading managed services providers before merging it with Apogee in 2015. Robin took the leadership of Apogee as sole CEO in April of last year and has been instrumental in transitioning the business after HP’s acquisition. The Apogee board would like to thank Robin for the relentless energy and leadership he has brought to the organisation, and the significant contributions he has made to our success.

Apogee will continue to be run as an independent subsidiary of HP Inc. with separate systems and processes optimised for Managed Services. The appointment of Aurelio as CEO will further drive growth in Apogee’s core business and accelerate the execution of HP’s strategy to grow the Owned Channel in the UK and the rest of Europe.
