Edgbaston Stadium

Edgbaston chooses Apogee to reduce print costs, drive innovation, and digital transformation as well as helping to achieve sustainability objectives.

“The Apogee team have been fantastic during the lockdown process in identifying trends in our printing usage and in creating a long term plan about our office requirements.”

– Edgbaston Stadium representative

The Background

Edgbaston Stadium has been a client of Apogee’s for over nine years as well as an ‘Official Print Partner’ for the past seven years whereby Apogee supply all their print requirements. As the clubs reputation grew and employees increased, it became clear that the club needed to implement an effective print management solution which could provide them with an element of control over their current fleet of devices.

With the stadium sharing their office space with Compass, LSS Facilities Management, Keith Prowse, and Warwickshire Cricket Board, they were eager to find a solution which would departmentalise reporting for each business unit that were utilising the fleet. Another key driver for change was finding a solution that aligned with their current sustainability aims and visions. The stadium feels very strongly about the topic of sustainability and aim to become the most sustainable cricket club in the UK.

The Solution

Throughout 2020 and continuing into 2021, the majority of employees continue to work from a hybrid model of remote and office work. Due to important documents and highly confidential player contracts needing to be documented and printed at the HQ, there was still a demand for the fleet to be active and staff to be in the workplace.

Apogee proposed that the fleet of HP machines they had in place were condensed down from 13 devices to 9. Additionally, a PaperCut print management solution was introduced on all the devices located throughout the HQ which meant the club benefited from full visibility over their print usage, which subsequently was broken down into each department using identification credentials for users. This also increased internal data security which has assisted the club in furthering their GDPR compliance.

The Outcome

The reduction of HP fleet combined with PaperCut print management enabled both partners to identify key trends within the print estate as well as putting a substantial long term plan in place for overseeing their print requirements.

This provided an array of benefits, ultimately cost savings, industry expertise & knowledge, print control and supporting the clubs wider sustainability objectives, which is a key driver for them. Apogee will continue to support operations at Edgbaston through the Official Print Partnership until at least 2024 providing the latest print, scan and document technology.
